Due to COVID restrictions, the 2021 Toowoomba Swap Meet has been cancelled.
The Toowoomba Swap Meet is proudly organised, managed and presented solely by the Darling Downs Veteran & Vintage Motor Club Inc. (DDVVMC). The event takes place on the 1st full weekend of February each year and it is counted among the biggest three such events in Australia.
Our members volunteer to assist in the running of the swap meet; it is an exciting and rewarding event in which to take part. Anyone interested in being involved in the Club and the Swap is warmly invited to contact our Membership Officer.
Up to 12,000 people attend the swap meet, including approximately 1,750 Site holders and a volunteer force in the hundreds.
2022 will see the 49th Toowoomba Swap Meet; we very much look forward to your attendance.
We use the vehicle categories as defined by the Australian Historic Motoring Federation:
|Veteran||Up to end of 1918|
|Vintage||From 1919 up to end of 1930|
|Post Vintage||From 1931 up to end of 1949|
|Historic||50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's|
|(up to 25 years old.)|
Our club has an air-conditioned spacious meeting hall and well-equipped workshop at 2 Rocla Court (off McDougall Street).
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month beginning at 7:30 pm. Visitors with an interest in all types of older collectable vehicles, are very welcome to attend. The club has an event for vehicles each month which normally takes the form of a rally or tour that can be a competitive event such as an observation run or, a relaxed drive in the country.
The main objectives of the organization are: to encourage the restoration of older vehicles and to organize events for their use.
Other events take the form of restoration runs, static displays and gymkhanas. Social events are also held.
Please note that because of the restrictions on concessional registration of older vehicles, they are not available for hire for weddings and formals etc.
